Questions:
Advising - My biggest worry about being a first generation student is trying to figure out how I'll afford to pay my tuition and bills without the help of my parents. In fact, the reason I'm first generation is due to no one else being able to afford the luxury and privilege of attending college. I don't have credit for a personal loan nor the high school G.P.A for scholarships. What should I do? Mentoring - My biggest worry is not knowing what I'm going to be. I'm undecided and I feel like I'm in a hole, just looking up wondering if I'm ever going to get out. I don't know what I want to be, which has lead me to not even knowing what classes to take or what I should be doing. Student Scenario - You're a sophomore in college and you start realizing that your advisor is not assisting you effectively which leads you to not wanting to go to them any longer. You start hearing many things from your peers and friends regarding how helpful their advisor has been and you feel like your missing so much information. What would be your next move to fix this situation? |
